The concept when making the music for this album was based around the 7 stages of Alchemy and their philosophical relevance.

The Prima Materia

I am certainly no expert but the past few years have raised challenges to my question of self - who I believed I was/Am/Becoming and what is really important to me my true identity ?

I am finding that day by day there is more meaning for me as the layers are slowly being stripped away - The shadow exposed perhaps !

Musically it has been really helpful to have these concepts laid bare when creating loops (my favourite thing to do musically) it was a joyful challenge to hopefully create tracks that bare a hopeful resemblance to each stage of the positive transformation …a lot more is starting to make sense to me I think

I really do like the idea sometimes of solid themes when starting to compose..this I want to pursue in future albums…

The Last track on this album is a bonus track I guess of sorts - something I put together on my 4 track 15 years ago now !!! Very primitive in sounds…I was tempted to correct it ? Whatever that means. But felt it better to leave it as it was intended .. a memory of a cold wintery Sunday … bleak .but with a faint fresh smell of promise …
